10 Cheshire criminals jailed in February
They've all been locked up for their crimes
A drug dealer who mowed down a young child who was on her bike was among the many criminals jailed across the county during February.
Also locked up over the course of the month were on-the-run Jack Day, a knifepoint robber, one-man crimewave and drug kingpin who made around £500,000 during a four-year enterprise.
Here's a round-up of cases where Cheshire criminals have been sent to prison by courts during February...
Jack Day
On-the-run Jack Day has been captured - and jailed. The 32-year-old has been handed a four-year prison sentence after admitting being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, possession of a knife in a public place, possession of class B drugs, and driving without insurance.
Day was circulated on the national police wanted list in November 2024 in relation to his involvement in the supply of illegal drugs. Despite several searches, and a public wanted appeal, he managed to evade officers until October when officers from Northwich located him at a petrol station in Speke.
Day was arrested at the scene and during a search he was found in possession of two mobile phones, £400 cash, cannabis, drugs paraphernalia, and a lock knife. Analysis of the phones showed that Day was actively involved in the supply of cocaine.
Livan Gjini and Jetmir Grrica
Police seized more than 500 cannabis plants with an estimated value of up to £400,000 from an office building. The cannabis farm was discovered at a business premises in Rudheath.
Two men - Livan Gjini, 27, and Jetmir Grrica, 23 - have both been sentenced to eight months in prison. Both men appeared at Chester Crown Court where they pleaded guilty to the production of class B drugs.
Alex Shirley

Lee James
Drug kingpin Lee James made around £500,000 during a four-year enterprise that saw him fill his home with designer items. But the 39-year-old, who had a Rolex worth more than £15,000, is behind bars where detectives say he can 'contemplate whether it was worth it'.
Charlie Farrell
A Cheshire drug dealer knocked a young child off her bike when her mum took a photograph of his car after catching him in the act. Charlie Farrell, 21, of Dingle Lane, Kelsall, was jailed for five years when he appeared at Chester Crown Court.
He had pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A and B drugs, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified. Accomplice Louis Clayton, 32, of Maplewood, Southdene, Kirkby, was sentenced to three years in prison after he admitted being concerned in the supply of Class A and B drugs.
Kaya Scullion
A drug dealer who used Snapchat to continue selling cannabis having been spared jail for similar offences has now been put behind bars. Kaya Scullion was sentenced to 16 months in prison at Chester Crown Court.
Ashley Whittaker
A man has been banned from every Co-operative store in Macclesfield - as well as nine other retailers in the county. Ashley Whittaker appeared at Crewe Magistrates’ Court where he was jailed for 15 weeks after pleading guilty to eight counts of theft from a shop.
Alongside the custodial sentence, Whittaker was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order that bans him from entering Macclesfield town centre.
Viktor Ymeralilaj
A man who hid from police in the loft of a boarded-up former Cheshire registry office that had been converted into a cannabis farm has been jailed. Viktor Ymeralilaj, of no fixed address, was jailed for 16 months.
The 31‑year‑old had pleaded guilty to the cultivation of cannabis at the first opportunity when he appeared at Chester Crown Court. The court heard that at around 9am on Monday, January 19, police in Macclesfield conducted a warrant at a former registry office on Park Green in the centre of the town.
Reece Robertson
A man who tried to smuggle drugs into Creamfields music festival has been jailed. Reece Robertson was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison when he recently appeared at Chester Crown Court.
The 19-year-old, from Runcorn, had earlier pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply ketamine. The court heard that at 6.45pm on Sunday, August 25, 2024, Robertson was attempting to enter the Northgate entrance to Creamfields music festival when a drugs dog indicated that he was in possession of illegal drugs.
