Cheshire pub pays tribute after death of popular singer 'Scouse Pink'
The boozer remembered her as a "beautiful person" with a "heart of gold"
A Cheshire pub has paid tribute to a singer with a "heart of gold" following her death after a four-year battle with cancer. Beverley Sinnot, who performed under the stage name Beverley George, aka 'Scouse Pink', died earlier this week surrounded by her family.
Her death was announced by family member Wayne Fogg in a post on Facebook. Wayne said Beverley "gained her angel wings" with her husband Paul and close family members by her side.
He wrote on Tuesday: "She fought a very tough battle over the last four years but sadly took her last breath this morning with Paul, Yvonne, Lynn, Julia and myself with her holding her hands."
Wayne described his niece as "a force of nature", adding: "At this time we know so many of you loved her and she will be missed by everyone who knew her, but we ask you all please give Paul and the kids some time to grieve and gather themselves after the loss of our Bev. We will be announcing funeral details as soon as things are in place, thank you all."
Tributes have also been paid by the Simms Cross pub in Widnes, where Beverley had been performing for the past three years, reports the ECHO. In a statement shared on the pub's Facebook page, staff said they were "absolutely heartbroken" at the loss of their "dear friend and entertainer".
The post said: "Bev started here with us at Simmies three years ago, entertaining us and often shared our anniversary. She would always want to be part of the celebrations here. We quickly became good friends and Bev became part of the furniture.
"[She] often referred to me as her 'twinnie' with our unique styled shaved hair. We would often have a catch up on Thursday now and then at Rocking horse in Liverpool then a quick drink in Ruby's. Always a good laugh, just enjoying life. [She was a] beautiful person with a heart of gold. We're going to miss you girl, what a fighter!"
The post added that she was "very popular and loved by us all" and offered "deepest sympathy and love" to her husband and family. Responding to the Facebook post, Alfie Leslie said: "So sad great singer and an all around great person. R.I.P you will be missed."
Tonia Maria wrote: "Thinking of Paul and the children at this time. She fought so hard. Will always be missed Bev." Laura Ireland added: "May she rest in peace, my heart goes out to her family and friends."
