The Cheshire restaurants with three coveted AA Rosettes
Inspectors have hailed these four venues
Four Cheshire restaurants have been awarded three coveted AA Rosettes. Each venue has retained its Rosettes in the AA Hospitality Awards 2025.
To be awarded three Rosettes, a restaurant must achieve 'culinary standards that demand national recognition well beyond their local area'. AA inspectors also review the quality of the ingredients, as well as insisting the 'timing, seasoning and the judgement of flavour combinations be consistently excellent'. Good wine lists and intuitive service are also taken into consideration.
Here's the four restaurants in the county with three AA Rosettes:
The Vines at Carden Park, Broxton
Inspector comments: "Modern dishes with a global influence."
Overview: "The Vines is the fine dining option at the sumptuous Carden Park golf and spa hotel in the pretty village of Broxton. Subtle shades of cream and warm whites, discreet lighting and well-spaced, linen-clothed tables make for an elegant setting to enjoy the finely tuned contemporary dishes. The wine list includes bottles from their own vineyard."
Arkle atChesterGrosvenor, Chester
Inspector comments: "Accomplished cooking in a stylish city hotel."
Overview: "Deep within the luxurious Chester Grosvenor hotel, the Arkle restaurant has a club feel with its warm woods, striking flower displays, rich dark blues and yellows and sumptuous furnishings. The sophisticated space, seating just 40 guests, is where the smartly uniformed staff, present modern cooking which displays well-defined flavours and precise technical skills."
Next Door, Frodsham
Inspector comments: "Contemporary dining in a charming Cheshire village."
Overview: "The name Next Door comes from the time when husband and wife team Richard and Vikki Nuttall (he’s in the kitchen, she’s the sommelier) lived in the adjoining house. The charming restaurant, once Frodsham’s butcher’s shop, occupies a timbered cottage with oak beams and exposed stone walls – it’s a cosy spot, where the passion for providing good food and excellent hospitality is very much evident."
Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa, Nantwich
Inspector comments: "Fine dining in a handsome 19th-century manor."
Overview: "Built in 1816 by the owner of a Jamaican sugar plantation, Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa is set in 38 acres of gardens, parkland and pasture. The wealth of the original owner is evident in the sumptuous interior and the large bay windows in the restaurant offer views of the grounds, which can be enjoyed even more if dining on the terrace. The modern British menu is in step with the seasons and the local larder."
