Cheshire town centre wine bar to open after former Italian snapped up

"We can’t wait to show you what we have lined up"

Town House is opening in Sandbach

A coffee shop is expanding - with the opening of a wine bar and bistro. Blackwater & Grubb has been operating The House, in Sandbach, for the past four years and has now snapped up the old Raffaele Italian restaurant unit too.

It comes as Raffaele has moved into the old Crown Hotel following a £1 million makeover. Now Blackwater & Grubb is recruiting for the bistro.

In a social media post to diners, the firm stated: "We have taken our biggest leap as a small business yet and taken over the old Raffaele site as a second venue. Since opening the van in the park, Pete and I have always said if there was one location we’d love to have in Sandbach, it was this one.

"So when the opportunity came, we did everything we could to get it. We wanted to keep it independent, keep it part of Sandbach, grow our small business, and give Sandbach something else to be proud of. After all we’re here because of you. We’ll keep you updated on the whole refurb as progress continues. We can’t wait to show you what we have lined up."

The post adds: "The House is not moving. We love our cute corner of Sandbach and hope to stay here for many years to come."
