Cheshire village pub shut for four years set to reopen in 2026

It closed back in 2021

A Cheshire village pub that has sat empty for at least four years is set to reopen in 2026. We reported last year that Rode Heath's Royal Oak boozer had been purchased by the team at Congleton's Brownlow Inn - and they were promising a venue that locals can be proud of.

In a post on the Royal Oak Facebook page, it stated during the summer: "We are excited to join the Rode Heath community." The pub has been shut since at least 2021.

In an update just before Christmas, which showed pictures of the ongoing refurb, the pub posted on social media: "Our team have been working so hard to get this renovation done, and we finally have something that resembles a pub!

"What's next? The prep is done, ready for the floor insulation to be installed. Who's ready for 2026, because we sure are."

An opening date has not yet been fixed, but the pub's social media pages promise it is 'coming soon'.
