Chester city centre set for new restaurant opening as plans lodged

It will be offering diners authentic Japanese cuisine

Plans have been unveiled for a new Chester city centre restaurant offering diners authentic Japanese cuisine. Zumuku Sushi is set to open on Upper Northgate Street.


An advertisement consent planning application for the venue's signage has been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council. The unit was previously occupied by 9 Elephants Thai Drink & Dine, which permanently closed in the last 12 months.


According to the Zumuku Sushi website, its first restaurant opened in Wilmslow. It also has venues in Congleton, Macclesfield, Warrington and Liverpool.

In addition to the restaurants, Zumuku also operates six takeaway only services in cities such as Bristol, Leeds and Glasgow. Its menu the menu comprises a range of sushi platters and hot foods.
