Two workers at the same Chester hotel picked up accolades at the first Chester Hospitality Association People Awards. In a glitzy ceremony held at Chester Racecourse, The Chester Grosvenor's Head Chef Elliot Hill won 'Chef of the Year', while Assistant Head Housekeeper, Radek Moszan, received the ‘Heart of the House Award’.

Two of the eleven categories went to the five-star city centre hotel, which was represented in six categories. Organisers described the event as "amazing".

The event is modelled on the Liverpool Hospitality People Awards, which returned in March this year after a two-year break. Organisers said the new Chester event was designed to both recognise the work of hospitality staff and also raise money for the Hospitality Action charity.

Elliot Hill joined the Grosvenor in 2022, and manages a kitchen team of over 40 people working across the hotel's two restaurants, afternoon tea service and room service. Judges found he demonstrated the highest standards of culinary delivery.

Radek Moszan joined the hotel in 2016. He was recognised for his excellence in team support, a commitment to self-development, and being a team player who is also able to coach and mentor others. Alongside his roles as linen porter, supervisor and Assistant Head Housekeeper, Radek is also a trained mental first aider.
