A luxury five-star hotel in Chester city centre is celebrating after its fine dining restaurant was shortlisted for a highly-prestigious industry award.


The Chester Grosvenor's 3 AA Rosette restaurant, Arkle, is a finalist in the esteemed AA Hospitality Awards. The venue, which opened in March last year after replacing ‘Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor', is in the running for the AA Food Service Award.


The winners will be announced on September 25. Recognising a restaurant that delivers exceptional standards of service and hospitality, the AA Food Service Award is a competitive category seeking to honour those who deliver flawless, technical service skills with food and beverage knowledge of the highest standard.

The AA Hospitality Awards aim to shine a light on the best establishments across the country, with the Arkle being nominated alongside the highly-respected Woven by Adam Smith in Coworth Park hotel and The Strathearn in The Gleneagles Hotel.

Since Arkle’s inauguration last year, it has gone on to flourish, swiftly attaining the accolade of 3 AA Rosettes, whilst also being named in the Michelin Guide and receiving the AA Notable Wine List Award.

Executive chef Elliot Hill said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be nominated for this award, and honoured to be up against some incredible restaurants. It’s a true testament and credit to the whole team who work tirelessly in delivering service to the highest standard in making Arkle a truly wonderful and unique experience, and we are so grateful for all our customers who we get to entertain every service."

Aga Szopa, food and beverage manager at The Chester Grosvenor, added: "I am so proud of the team for being one of just three finalists for this award, it’s an amazing achievement and recognises the level of service we strive to provide and the feedback we consistently receive from our guests.
