Family's tribute to 'hardworking' dad-of-six killed in M6 crash

Tributes have been paid to a 'devoted' dad-of-six killed in a crash on the M6 in Cheshire. Daniel Hill was the passenger in a van involved in a collision with a crane truck between junctions 16 and 17.
Daniel, aged 34, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the van's driver - a 30-year-old man - was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with 'serious injuries'.
Emergency services had been called to the northbound smash at around 7.45pm on March 3 with the motorway shut off for several hours. Officers found a collision involving a white Renault van and a crane truck.
Today tributes have been paid to Daniel, of Oldham, whose family say was a 'well-liked and memorable character'. His heartbroken family said: "Danny was a hardworking family man whose partner and six children were the centre of his world, and everything he did was for them.
“An avid rugby and football supporter, he proudly played rugby for his town team and had a great love of music. Danny was known for his sense of humour and his ability to make people laugh, often entertaining friends and family with his impressions of comedians like Lee Evans.
“He was a well-liked and memorable character — a devoted partner and father, and a beloved son and brother. His loss has left his family heartbroken, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him."
