Emergency services rescued an injured man who was stuck on the roof of a Chester hotel. The incident unfolded on Friday, November 15, when a metal beam reportedly fell onto a man who was on the rooftop of the Moxy hotel in Boughton.

Police, fire crews and paramedics were all sent to the scene at 11am. A large number of emergency response vehicles could be seen outside the hotel building.

Fire engines from Chester, Warrington and Lymm, as well as an aerial ladder platform from Chester and a rope rescue unit from Malpas, were all sent to aid in the rescue of the man.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire crews were called to a person stuck on a roof. A specialist rope rescue team attended and the aerial ladder platform was used to get the person down safely.

"The NWAS Hazardous Area Response Team attended along with police who cordoned off the area for safety."

Cheshire Police have confirmed the man sustained an injury to his leg and was taken to hospital following his safe rescue from the rooftop.
