'Intruders' at Cheshire business ends in police busting cannabis factory

An investigation is underway

Police at the Wrenbury cannabis factory

Police rumbled a cannabis factory after being called to reports of 'intruders' at a South Cheshire business. Officers had been sent to Wrenbury on Sunday night.


And on arriving at Wrenbury Hall Drive they found a unit had been transformed into a cannabis grow. Now an investigation is underway to find who is behind the illicit operation.


The alarm had been raised just before 11.50pm on Sunday (March 1). A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: "Officers were called to reports of intruders at a business premises on Wrenbury Hall Drive in Wrenbury.


"While dealing with the incident they discovered one of the units had been turned into a large cannabis grow. The premises has been made safe by electrical engineers and officers are now dismantling the grow and seizing the contents of the premises. Enquiries are continuing to establish those responsible."

Witnesses should call the force on 101.
