ITV film After The Flood at Cheshire beauty spot as Jill Halfpenny spotted
The hit drama is returning for a second series
Filming for the second series of hit ITV drama After The Flood is taking place at a Cheshire beauty spot. The cameras have been spotted at the Alderley Edge National Trust site this morning, along with new cast member Jill Halfpenny.
A local walker told Cheshire Live: "Jill Halfpenny has just walked past us as we were allowed along a path in the set as they weren't filming."
It was announced earlier this year that filming was going to start on a second series with returning cast members including Sophie Rundle, Nicholas Gleaves, Lorraine Ashbourne, Philip Glenister, Matt Stokoe and Faye McKeever. Joining the cast for the new series are Alun Armstrong, Jill Halfpenny, Ian Puleston-Davies and Matthew McNulty.
The second series finds newly promoted detective Jo Marshall (Sophie Rundle) on the trail of a baffling new murder investigation. As tensions simmer in Waterside amid the rising threat of moorland fires and the subsequent risk of further flooding, a body is discovered in bizarre circumstances.
Jo's race to stop the killer brings her into direct conflict with dark and influential forces within the town, ultimately drawing her into an investigation that becomes deeply personal. One that will require her to operate in secret if she is to have any hope of rooting out the corruption that has blighted the town's police force - and her own family - for decades.
The second series of After the Flood comprises six one-hour episodes. No date has yet been set for when the series will air.
