Motorists are being warned a busy A-road has been left 'blocked' after a smash. A collision has taken place on Middlewich Road in Sandbach.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix had first issued an alert over the incident just before 6.45am this morning. In the latest update and the site says the road - between Elworth and the middle of Sandbach - has been left 'blocked' in both directions.
A live map from Google shows delays in the area.
Meanwhile residents are reporting a 'huge emergency presence' on the road. Locals say the road is closed off just past the Co-op.

Biker in Royal Stoke with 'serious injuries'
Cheshire Police say a biker has been taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital following a collision with a car on Middlewich Road this morning. And the force has urged drivers to 'avoid the area' with the road staying shut for now.
The alarm had been raised just before 6.25am. A spokesman for the constabulary said: "Officers attended and found there had been a collision between a white Mercedes A200 and a black motorcycle near to the junction of Moorland Road.
"The rider of the bike is believed to have sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital. The driver of the car was uninjured. Officers remain in attendance at the scene and the A533 Middlewich Road is currently closed in both directions between Park Lane to Abbey Road.
"Local diversions are in place, but motorists are urged to avoid the area. Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and anyone with any information or video footage which may aid the investigation is asked to contact Cheshire Police."
