Mooove along! Cows break into gardens in Middlewich

Cows managed to escape into the gardens of homes in Middlewich on Saturday evening.


Firefighters had to rescue one of the animals after it got stuck in a nearby canal. Crews from Lymm, Middlewich and Bollington took part in the rescue operation.


A total of nine young cows broke free into a residential area. They were moved by firefighters into a secure area before being transported back to safety.

Lymm Fire Station tweeted a picture of some of the cows standing in the gardens of local properties. The post read: "Moo-ve along, nothing to see here.


"Nine young cows managed to escape in Middlewich this evening, one of which had to be recovered from the nearby canal. Fire crews from Lymm, Middlewich and Bollington moo-ved them to a secure area until we could get them transported to safety."
