New craft beer and wine bar opens its doors in Chester suburb
'We’re relieved to get going at last!'
A new craft beer and wine bar has opened its doors in Chester. We reported last year the new venue - named Wealstone - would be opening at a vacant site at the Weston Grove shopping precinct in Upton.
The empty unit was taken over by couple Tom and Emma Mitchell who already run similar venues in other areas of the city. Planning consent for the change of use was recently granted by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
And on Friday the new premises officially opened its doors to the public for the first time. In a post via the venue's Facebook page, Tom and Emma said: "Thanks to all the tradesmen, especially Joe and Terry for all the work done to transform the old bank into a wonderful space!
"We’re relieved to get going at last!" The couple also run popular craft beer bars Bluestone in Boughton and Sandstone in Westminster Park.
