An elderly woman was left with a broken elbow after a dog 'jumped up' on a South Cheshire canal towpath. Now police are appealing for witnesses over the incident in Nantwich.

Neighbourhood officers say the woman was on the Shropshire Union Canal in Acton at around 2pm on November 29. A spokesperson said: "At this time, a male described as in his 50s wearing brown clothing was walking a large black Labrador off the lead.

"After initially passing, the dog turned and ran back to the female, jumped up and caused her to fall to the floor."

Witnesses, or anyone who knows the man, should call Cheshire Police on 101 and quote reference 25001019236.
