Opening date set for Chester's new Harrods Beauty store with 'champagne bar'
Not long now!
The opening date has now been fixed for the new Harrods 'H-Beauty' store in Chester city centre. The store - located inside part of the iconic former Browns of Chester building - will open its doors next week.
The Eastgate Square shopping centre's Facebook page states: "It’s almost time! We are so excited to announce that H beauty, the new destination for beauty, fragrance and self-care in Chester opens on 12 February. Opening celebration plans to be shared soon."
Last year we reported that the new store plans to sell "champagne and other high end alcohol products" to customers being pampered at the venue. It is expected the new store will create 70 jobs.
The luxury beauty brand is leasing part of the old Debenhams department store at ground floor level and at number 34 and 36 on the Rows. The historic building on Eastgate Street has lain empty since Debenhams closed its doors for the final time in May 2021.
Nearly three years ago, Irish family-owned Martin Property Group purchased the historic £4m-valued property.
