Tragedy as person found dead on Cheshire train tracks

'The incident is not being treated as suspicious'

Police say they are not treating the death of a casualty found on a set of Cheshire train tracks as suspicious.


Emergency services had been called to the line near Sandbach Train Station at around 10.20am this morning (January 9).


A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line near Sandbach railway station following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
