A Cheshire village known for the footballers and millionaires that reside there has been in a state of flux of late due to a number of high profile bar and restaurant closures on its main street. But two new venues have now announced plans to bring back to life empty sites in Alderley Edge.
The first of these is Latch - a new late-night bar - which is taking over the former Bar Ten venue on London Road. Work is already well underway at the site, with its new name above the door and plans to open next weekend following a £200,000 transformation.
Meanwhile, the huge old Gusto site which closed last year is also set to get a new lease of life - with plans for it to become a Fire Station Social Cucina. The bistro will become a second sister site for the Fire Station's original venue in Tarporley.

New late night bar Latch has been created through a new partnership between two established North West hospitality names: Alberto and Claire Halluni, operators of three award-winning Italian restaurants (Don Alberto's in Holmes Chapel and Leigh, and Il Padrino in Middlewich), and Edward, Andrew and Peter Odudu, the team behind Global Cultural Events who operated previous Latch Bars in Chorley and Preston.
The brothers have previously run bars, restaurants and nightclubs across Lancashire, Chorlton, the Northern Quarter and Manchester City Centre, reports the MEN. "We are thrilled to introduce our latest venture to Alderley Edge," commented Alberto Halluni. "The village is renowned for its outstanding venues, exceptional service and sophisticated atmosphere.
"It sets a high standard and one we are fully prepared to meet with Latch. Italian hospitality is at the heart of what we do, and at Latch we're creating a warm, welcoming space that feels like home while also offering an elevated sense of occasion through live performances and curated DJ sets.
"Latch also allows us to champion the regional music scene, showcasing local talent and giving emerging artists a new platform to shine. Anyone interested in performing at Latch is welcome to come down, soak up the atmosphere and see if their sound aligns with the unique vibe we're creating."
Opening later this month, Latch will deliver a drinks menu that pairs high-end and celebrity-owned brands with elevated, high-flair mixology and curated alcohol-free serves, they say. The music line-up will blend Soulful House, RandB and Amapiano grooves, setting the tone for what the owners say will be a "sophisticated yet spirited experience".

Latch Live on select Thursdays from 5pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm will deliver curated live music sessions featuring "exceptional artists alongside champagne serves, signature cocktails and freshly prepared brunches". "We want our clientele to see Latch as a natural extension to their social lives," added Edward Odudu. "A place where family, friends and new faces can come together to meet, socialise and enjoy exceptional music. It's about fostering genuine connections and encouraging people to look up from their phones and truly engage with one another. Great music and great memories, that's what Latch is designed to deliver."
Meanwhile work has just begun on the transformation of the Gusto site on the opposite side of London Road in the village. The Fire Station brand is owned by long-standing hospitality operators the Cheshire Pub Co, who also own the Churchill Tree pub in Nether Alderley.
They announced last month their intentions to transform the former Gusto site, with plans to open around May time with their new bistro. Diners can expect a similar style to the Tarporley Fire Station Cucina, which offers a range of Italian dishes including pasta, risotto, grilled meats and wood-fired pizzas.
